Itinerary

Day 1 | Lake Bled - Mt. Stol

We start our trek in Bled, where we walk along the lake and do a short hike up to Ojstrica, the most photogenic spot over Lake Bled. After the hike, we drive to the Valvasor Lodge, the best mountain hut in Slovenia as voted in 2018, where we enjoy lunch of traditional Slovenian mountain dishes, and then head towards Mt. Stol, which is at its 2,236 meters the highest mountain of the beautiful Karavanke Mountain range. With stunning views of endless hilltops stretching between Slovenia on one side and Austria on the other, jagged high peaks of the Julian Alps, Lake Bled and Lake Wörter, we end the first day, and spend the night in the Prešeren Hut just a few minutes from the top.

Day 2 | Mt. Stol - Mt. Golica

We make a beautiful traverse starting from the lodge on Mt. Stol, where we spent the night, all the way to Mt. Golica, 1,835 m. In spring, the trail is widely known with its endless fields of white daffodils, yellow dandelions, and other beautiful flowers, which color the curvy slopes of this part of the Karavanke completely white or completely yellow. From the top of Mt. Golica we hike down to the Golica Hut, where we spend the night.

Day 3 | Mt. Golica - Dovje / Mojstrana

We continue to walk along the flower trail, passing many friendly hilltops with amazing views of the Karavanke and the Julian Alps. The last peak to conquer that day is Mt. Dovška Baba, 1,891 m, and from there on we hike down to a small village of Dovje / Mojstrana, where we spend the night in a nice cosy country house with spectacular views of the mountains.

Day 4 | Mojstrana via Ferrata, Peričnik Waterfalls

We take a short walk from Dovje to the pretty neighboring village of Mojstrana, where we tackle a short but scenic via ferrata across the steep face of a hill towering just above the village. Optional: for those who don't participate in the via ferrata, it is possible to walk up Grančišče. After the via ferrata, we can visit the mountaineering museum of Mojstrana, and go for lunch. After lunch, we hike to the Peričnik Waterfalls and take a walk underneath the breathtaking fall which drops down as much as 52 meters. Afterwards, we return back to Dovje / Mojstrana, where we spend the night.

Day 5 | Mt. Trupejevo Poldne, Martuljek Waterfalls, Kranjska Gora

After breakfast, we drive to Srednja Vas above Gozd Martuljek, an enchanting small village with spectacular views of the Alps, from where we hike up to the open peak of Mt. Trupejevo Poldne to enjoy jaw-dropping views of the highest mountains of the Julian Alps. On the way back we stop at an idyllic meadow to enjoy our last meal together - a wonderful picnic with the views for the gods. As an easier alternative for the last day we can visit the beautiful Martuljek Waterfalls.
