Triglav via Ferrata

2-Day Tour, start from Vrata Valley, pick-up in Kranjska Gora or Bled

The symbol and pride of Slovenia, Triglav is both the highest and the most popular mountain of the Julian Alps in the heart of the Triglav National Park. The powerful peak, rising well above the others, attracts the nation and their visiting guests to conquer it at least once in a lifetime. Interwoven with numerous secured routes, there is one route in particular that boasts superlatives. The longest and the most difficult route, which is also the most precipitous and wild, yet at the same time the most beautiful and panoramic. That’s only the “Bambergova” Triglav via ferrata route also called “Čez plemenice”, winding its way at a right angle to the vertical and majestic Triglav North Face. Wild landscape, heart-pounding views and the “royal” trail will fill every mountaineer with unforgettable feelings of great pride, satisfaction and accomplishment that only difficult mountains can.

Itinerary

Day 1 | Aljaž Hut - Triglav - Kredarica

Upon meeting at the Aljaž Hut in the Vrata Alpine Valley and checking the hiking and via ferrata gear, we head straight towards the majestic Triglav North Face. After about two hours we reach a pass called Luknja, where we strap on the climbing harness and helmet and enter the via ferrata section. We carefully pass the climbing section, enjoying incredible views of the North Face and other mountains across the Vrata Valley, and then continue our way towards the Triglav peak. After about six hours en route, we finally reach the top of Triglav, Slovenia's highest mountain. The first-timers will be surprised to learn of the Slovenian mountaineering habits, and everyone will be mesmerised by incredible views from the very top of Slovenia. Then, we return slowly back down and spend the night at Kredarica, the highest lying mountain hut in Slovenia.

Day 2 | Kredarica - Aljaž Hut

The next morning after breakfast we slowly return back to the Vrata Valley taking another less precipitous route down the Triglav North Face.
