Itinerary

We park on an alpine plateau Pokljuka, only to follow a nice forest trail to the old ski slopes not far away and then further up the slope until the view is clear and open to the whole beautiful south face of the mountain. From there on, it's nothing but pleasure to walk up enjoying nice views of the forest-covered hills of Pokljuka. What is most stunning about the route are the views of the other side of the mountain where Triglav, Slovenia's highest mountain, stands so close you could most probably grasp it. No matter how many times you've conquered Viševnik, the view from the top never gets old, truly.

"After my July vacation in Slovenia, when I joined Exploring Slovenia on four tours in the mountains and had such a great time, I simply had to go back in August. It really absorbs you, you know. The first new tour we did was Viševnik. It wasn’t a difficult hike - could be fun for families with children too! - and the nature and scenery along the way were beautiful. The abundant wild flowers and their scents resembled a walk in a flower garden. Since it was a weekend the top was pretty crowded, but we found a perfect spot nearby where we were alone and the views stupendous (the location is our little secret lol)! "
