Lakes and Rivers of the Julian Alps

IN

10-Day Tour; start from Bohinj (pick-up in Ljubljana, Bled or Bohinj)

Immerse yourself in a 10-day adventure in some of the loveliest mountains and villages that crown beautiful Slovenia. The Julian Alps deserve their reputation: from Alpine lakes, colorful wild flowers, turquoise rivers and tall waterfalls, to sheer walls, tall peaks and beautiful wildlife. We will spend most of our time in the mountainous landscape of the Triglav National Park, one of our favorite mountain areas to hike, while being pampered with traditional cuisine. The tour is a perfect combination of the mainstream must-do hiking destinations in Slovenia and the refreshing off-the beaten-track mountainous world.

To recap the 10 days: From Lake Bohinj, we will head towards the lakes, spend two nights in the very heart of the Triglav National Park, and from there descend to the gorgeous Soča Valley. The following day we will explore the emerald Soča, a world-known river which feels almost surreal with its mesmerizing hue, crystalline pools and coves between rapids. From there, we will traverse back to Lake Bohinj right on the WWI-history-packed trails amid imposing peaks, and rest our legs, the next day exploring the flatter Krma Valley, a spectacular valley surrounded by rocky walls of high mountains. In the following days we will enter the mountainous kingdom of the rare Alpine ibex, explore more Alpine lakes, conquer a tall peak, and conclude our wonderful tour with the views of the 3-km wide and 1-km tall Triglav North Face and a farewell dinner in one of the boutique restaurants in the Alps.

Sights visited on this tour? Lake Bohinj, the 7 Triglav Lakes, the Soča Valley with the Soča River, Trenta, Bovec, Kobarid, Lake Krn, Komna, Mojstrana, Krma Valley, Vrata Valley, Kriški Podi and Križ Lakes, Kranjska Gora, Lake Jasna.

Triglav Lakes Trek

IN

3-Day Tour, start from Bohinj (pick-up in Bled and Bohinj)

Join us on a traverse across a remarkable kingdom of high-mountain lakes underneath towering steep walls and conquer Mt. Triglav with us, the highest mountain of Slovenia. Arguably the most beautiful Alpine valley in Slovenia, the Triglav Lakes Valley extends about eight kilometers from the 1,294-m elevation above Lake Bohinj to the 1,933-m elevation, not too far from Triglav itself. Therefore, after a beautiful day in the green Triglav Lakes Valley, which starts right above Lake Bohinj, we ascend the gray rocky world beneath Triglav, make the iconic climb to the highest mountain of Slovenia, and then return back down on probably the most scenic trail back to the Bohinj area. A breathtaking trek for the adventurous!

The ascent to Triglav is guided by an experienced IFMGA mountain guide.

From Ojstrica to Logar Valley

IN

2-Day Tour, start from Planina Podvežak, pick-up from Logar Valley

Join us on this two-day tour in the beautiful Kamnik-Savinja Alps above the green Logar Valley and get a taste of the real mountains. On the first day, we pick you up in the Logar Valley and drive up to the trailhead at the Podvežak Plateau. From there we go off to explore Ojstrica and Planjava, the two last big peaks in the farthest east of the Slovenian Alps. If their steep north face above the Logar Valley offers serious climbing tours, the south side, that we take, shows a completely different, more friendly face. You can stop and freshen up on a high-Alpine meadow Korošica right on the way and then continue up on a nice panoramic trail to the top of both peaks. From there, we traverse to the enchanting green meadow Kamnik Saddle and spend the night in a comfortable mountain hut. On the second day, we explore another beautiful peak above the hut, Brana, soak up stunning views of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, and then descend back down to the Logar Valley with a stop by the plummeting Rinka Falls. The tour is suitable for mountaineering beginners with some degree of physical fitness, while it will absolutely fascinate experienced mountaineers as well.
