The first four days are spent in the alpine heart of Slovenia, beginning with a trek through the lush, high peaks of the Karavanke Alps, followed by an exploration of the rugged Western Julian Alps and the pristine Soča Valley. The second half of the journey takes us to the idyllic Croatian islands of Cres and Lošinj, where we hike through remote wilderness and swim in secluded coves, far from the crowds.

This tour offers something for everyone, blending adventure and nature in perfect harmony.

Stats: 300 – 1000 m of ascent and descent per day; 10 – 15 km per day.

The Karavanke Alps Traverse

7 Triglav Lakes Trek

Join us on an unforgettable journey across one of Slovenia’s most stunning alpine landscapes – the Triglav Lakes Valley. Nestled beneath towering, rugged cliffs, this valley is home to a series of high-mountain lakes, making it one of the most picturesque corners of the Julian Alps. Stretching for about eight kilometres, the valley rises from 1,294 metres above Lake Bohinj to around 1,933 metres, not far from the iconic summit of Mt. Triglav.

Over the course of three days, we’ll immerse ourselves in this dramatic landscape, enjoy traditional mountain cuisine, stay in two different mountain huts, and take in the rugged beauty that surrounds us. This breathtaking trek is a true adventure for those looking to explore the wild heart of the Slovenian Alps.

Afternoons can be spent either relaxing at the hut or heading out on optional hikes to nearby viewpoints.

Why three days?
We believe this is the ideal pace to truly experience the valley. Spreading the trek over three days allows you to enjoy the scenery without rushing, experience two different mountain huts, and increase your chances of spotting wildlife such as ibex, chamois, and marmots, which are common in the area.
